Oxidation Tower


The ozone oxidation tower is typically a vertical cylindrical vessel made of corrosion-resistant materials (such as stainless steel, fiberglass-reinforced plastic, or carbon steel with anti-corrosion lining). The interior of the tower includes the following main components:

Tower Shell: A sealed vessel operating at atmospheric pressure, equipped with manholes, breather valves, and other process interfaces.

Catalyst Support Layer: Positions the catalyst bed at an appropriate location within the tower to improve reaction efficiency and facilitate the arrangement of water distribution, gas distribution, and backwashing systems.

Gas Distribution System: Located at the bottom or mid-section of the tower, ozone distribution devices (such as microporous diffusers, perforated pipes, or dedicated injectors) ensure uniform dispersion of ozone gas in the medium to be treated.

Water Distribution System: Evenly distributes the liquid to ensure uniform mixing with ozone gas.

Backwashing System: Periodically backwashes the catalyst bed to prevent clogging and compaction.

Gas-Liquid Separation Zone: A space at the top of the tower used to separate treated off-gas from the liquid.

Inlet and Outlet Piping: Includes liquid inlet/outlet pipes, ozone gas inlet, off-gas outlet, overflow outlet, and drain outlet.
